Today, like any other I woke up and thought about all I had to do on my day ahead. A soft wet and sultry Sunday morning, the list wasn’t exhaustive to say the least. It triggered an idea in my mind on how much we do take for granted the small things we choose to do on a daily basis subconsciously. This can be what we wish to have for breakfast, what we choose to wear, where we choose to go and who we choose to spend our time with.
There are times in our lives though when choice doesn’t seem as simple. We feel caught in a spiral of bad luck based on the poor choices we make or is it just life throwing another curve ball our way? I do believe we always have a choice, whether it is a conscious one or not. We can choose how we look at a bad situation, how we react to the idiot driving in front of us on the road is delaying our journey, the rain falling outside or the child that will not do as it’s told for the hundredth time that day.
So when you feel that moment of being stuck, the anger rising in you, or the tears beginning to fall in frustration, stop and ask yourself what can I choose in this situation?
Consciously of course.
